Blue Sky Chimney Sweeps is a small mom and pop type operation.

Ron and Renee Brigman (owners) have worked shoulder to shoulder for years.
In recent years our staff has grown to include Penny, Pam, Adam and Mandi.

Although small, BSCS is a full service company. Please see our services page for a listing of what we do.

In an effort to be the best Chimney Sweeps possible our staff attends numerous training seminars each year,
which facilitates staying current with codes and standards, methods, and tools of the trade.
Our technicians maintain certification with

National Fireplace Institute (NFI).

Ron is a recent Officer for both the CSIA and the NCSG Boards of Directors and currently sits on the Executive Committee of SCCSG as 1st Vice President.
Ron and Renee have both served on numerous task forces and planning committees for regional educational events.

The Chimney Safety Institute of America

The Chimney Safety Institute of America (CSIA) is a non profit, tax-exempt educational institution dedicated to chimney and venting system safety. CSIA is committed to the elimination of residential chimney fires, carbon monoxide intrusion and other chimney-related hazards that result in the loss of lives and property. To achieve its goals, CSIA devotes its resources to educating the public, chimney service professionals and other fire prevention specialists about the prevention and correction of chimney and venting system hazards.

Certification with CSIA is obtained by passing a written test to prove one's knowledge of chimney maintenance. Recertification is required every 3 years by retesting or an accumalation of credits accrued by continuing education via attending seminars and training programs.

Certification with the SCCSG begins with CSIA certification and adds an oral interview administered by a panel of master chimney sweeps. Finally a sweep must have a hands-on evaluation in the field to observe his/her abillities.
